Beast Coast Brings Back "Rap City" and Announces Debut Album

New York history.

Beast Coast is back, and this time with an album on the way. Escape From New York is slated to release on May 24.

The New York rap collective, consisting of members from Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, and the Underachievers, has announced the release of their debut album in a historic way.

The super-group recruited Big Tigger for a basement cypher, reminiscent of the legendary BET show, "Rap City." The show aired from August 1989 to November 2008, making this year the 30th anniversary of its launch.It's only fitting that Beast Coast would celebrate the iconic moment alongside their debut collaboration album.

Beast Coast includes Pro Era members Joey Bada$$, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution, CJ Fly, and Powers Pleasant), Flatbush Zombies members Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, and Erick Arc Elliott, and the Underachievers' AKTHESAVIOR and Issa Gold.
