OKP Premiere: Vursatyl Shares His New "I Got It" Video + A Vibrant DJ Spinna Remix

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

That smooth and cooled-out voice coming through your speakers belongs to Vursatyl, the Portland-bred rapper whose Crooked Straights LP still sits near the top of our list of favorite 2015 indie efforts. Full of booming West Coast-style tunes that come lacquered with Vursatyl's mindful rhymes, the record is a sign that hip-hop's alive and very well indeed up in the Pacific North West.

Okayplayer is very pleased to present the world premiere of Vursatyl's brand new video and a fantastic DJ Spinna remix. They're both devoted to the Crooked Straights album cut "I Got It" and show just how, yes, versatile the man's recordings can be. In the clip, we watch V set up a roadside consignment store out of his car, counting up receipt totals and spitting rhymes like it's all part of the same business plan. Spinna's flip, though, addles and rattles the groove with stuttered kicks and casually-swirling keys. And so you get a bit of G-funk, a bit of Dilla reference and a whole slew of solid bars all from a single cut. It's a bargain sale indeed.

Watch Vursatyl set up shop in the new "I Got It" clip below, and then be sure to also dig on the world premiere of DJ Spinna's remix below. Also, get yourself a copy of Crooked Straights over on iTunes; it's like the weekend's already here.
