As we mentioned around MLK day, the soundtrack for Soundtrack For A Revolution–the revelatory documentary about the music of the civil rights era which prominently features OKP family-members The Roots, John Legend, Anthony Hamilton, and Angie Stone not to mention Wyclef, TV on the Radio, Joss Stone and a mess of other great artists–is about to drop in CD form (pre-order on iTunes now) on February 14th (love’s gonna getcha!). In anticipation of this historic (literally) collection of amazing music we are proud to present the complete performance of “Ain’t Nobody Gonna Turn Me Around” from The Legendary Roots Crew with Tunde Adebimpe and Kyp Malone from TVOTR on the back-up. Enjoy above and New York heads, check back early next week for more info on a local screening of the film coming up soon!

this is sick. Black Thought sounds great. Appreciate it.
Good stuff! Everyone on it. Good stuff!
jazzy, smooth, churchy all at once. Love it! Great homage to the song, the people, the challenge they faced.
Last year during BH month I posted nicki Geovanni Great pax whitie. The response from negro folk was “we need to forgive” Why is it that when all the other nations re-visit the oppressions of their people, it’s all good. When we speak about ours, we accuse each other of not forgiving. We as a people want to forgive our daddy (the white man), yet have soooo much hatred for each other. The kind of hatred that makes this video in vain. We need to come on one accord on how to love. Thats why Christ came. To save his people from their sins. (Matt 1)
BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I can’t stop playing this video! I had no idea Black had such an amazing voice! Being a Blues/Jazz/Soul musician myself I’m digging the Jazz swing BIG.. The only thing I gotta say is that the background vocals don’t sound quite right at the end of the tune.. Somebody’s off.. They’ll probably catch that in their final stages of editing I assume
