Okayafrica is bringing together four bands from across the diaspora to play with The Very Best at Gramercy Theatre, NYC on August 13 (Show moved from Irving Plaza to Gramercy Theatre). The Very Best — composed of producer Johan Hugo and Malawi singer Esau Mwamwaya — stomped their claim on the scene with 2009's Warm Heart of Africa, which featured contributions from M.I.A. and Vampire Weekend.
The duo is now making waves with their follow-up album MTMTMK (dropped today! Purchase on iTunes) with videos and singles like the Lil' Wayne-spoofing "Yoshua Alikuti," trip-inducer "Kondaine ft. Seye," and their collaboration track with K'naan and Bruno Mars. Catch them live in NYC with Seye, Sinkane, Bajah and the Dry Eye Crew, and Ill Skillz. We're talking 5 original acts direct the continent! Check the flyer (after the jump) for full info and BUY TICKETS HERE! Or, enter to WIN TIX TO THE NYC SHOW AUG 13!
