To help fix that post-Turkey Day jones, Karriem Riggins has offered up an exceptional rework of The Roots crew and Elvis Costello's "Cinco Minutos Con Vos" off the special Record Store Day exclusive release of Wise Up: Thought-Remixes & Reworks. Gone are the strong horns and lush string arrangements of the original, exchanged for a bare, seductive and rather haunting structure with Black Thought riding the Hitsville swing that the Dilla-disciple so artfully implemented. Keeping the hook locked and the playfully swirling synths intact, Karriem puts that Detroit touch on what was already a heater from two of the most prolific acts in music.

This is the first track to drop off the remix LP, but one of four to have been graced with Riggins' stamp. As part of Record Store Day's Black Friday push, the album will be exclusively available at a crate shop near you, making it the perfect addition to any Okayplayer approved holiday shopping list.
