Filmmaker Spike Lee Takes Over NYC's City Winery On February 10th For A Very Special Evening Of Film, Wine & Music Including A Sneak Peek Of 'Da Sweet Blood Of Jesus.'
One full month ahead of the film's theatrical release, Spike Lee surprises fans with a premiere stream of Da Sweet Blood Of Jesus - the "newest, hottest Spike Lee Joint" - via Vimeo On Demand. Explaining the decision to release the film ahead of schedule, Spike Lee notes his own excitement about the project - a reinterpretation of Bill Gunn’s 1973 horror cult film Ganja & Hess which chronicles a romance "that questions the very nature of love, addiction, sex, and status in our seemingly sophisticated society"- and the opportunity to employ a different platform:
“I’m hyped on my partnership with Vimeo to get my new joint ‘Da Sweet Blood of Jesus’ out to the world in a new way,” said Spike Lee. “This is the future of film distribution. Please join us.”
