Illinois prosecutorsare getting ready to arrest R. Kelly, according to a new report from The New Yorker.

The report, which was written by veteranjournalistJim DeRogatis who has been on this case for 20 years says that prosecutors are ready to indict after they got their hands on a new video. The video allegedly shows Kelly sexually assaulting an underage girl.(The details of the tape were verifiedby a senior law enforcementofficial and two other sources.)
In 2002, Kelly was indicted in Illinois on child pornography charges after a tape of him allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a teenager became widely available. He was acquitted of those charges in 2008.
This news follows a tweet released by lawyerMichael Avenatti this morning (February 14th). In the tweet,Avenatti says that he has in his possession a 45-minute videotape that shows R. Kelly with an underage girl.
Avenatti also said the tape had previouslybeen undiscovered.
