Prince Bassist MonoNeon Releases First Official Music Video

Prince collaborator MonoNeon has released his first music video.

"Thoughts In The Morning Time" finds MonoNeon soundtracking the morning after a one night stand.

"I'm going to be in your thoughts in the morning time / That's when you're going to regret the night before," the artist croons throughout the track.

The girl (portrayed by Kimberly Rix) dances along to the music and is served breakfast, as the video (directed by IMAKEMADBEATS) then transitions into scenes of masked people dancing in front of different backgrounds.

Overall, the video paints an ideal post-one night stand scenario.

"Thoughts In The Morning Time" is taken from MonoNeon's recently released EP Selfie Quickie 2wooo. The six track project was composed, performed and recorded by MonoNeon himself.

The artist, who served as one of the last musician's Prince worked with prior to his death in April of last year, said that the latest project was highly influenced by the Purple One himself.

The two worked on a track together that was released last month. Titled "Ruff Enuff," the song was recorded in January of last year at Paisley Park, and not only featured Prince and MonoNeon, but Kirk Johnson and Adrian Crutchfield.

"They emailed me asking, 'Do you want to come to Paisley Park and jam,'" MonoNeon said in an interview last year in how he first met Prince. "Playing with Prince is uhmazing. He is always reaching for something higher in the music. Every time I play with him, either at rehearsals, or shows at Paisley Park, I leave the stage full. Not hungry or thirsty. Just full. It's constant inspiration playing with Prince."

"He's such a hard-working musician/artist, constantly creating and taking the music higher and higher," the bassist added. "To be around someone like that you have no choice but to be inspired and improve. I’m thankful for the experience."

Prince's music recently became available to stream on other music streaming services aside from Tidal this past week.
