It's been a task to keep up with the output of one Denitia Adesuwa Odigie. Now simply known as Adesuwa, the Brooklyn upstart has been on a hot spell as of late, releasing cuts with the ever-prolific BKLYN 1843 camp (most recently on the reverie-inducing NΔTIONS collaboration "Planned Out World") and making good on the promise of new solo material with the slow-burning single "Hot Water."
And today, we have the distinct pleasure of bringing you the latest from Adesuwa, the warm and bright new ballad "Wild Light." Here's a song for the lost, but soon to be found. Over a laid-back synth-scape, Adesuwa lets loose a lovely lilt, flaunting a iron-strong command for tender, pop-tinged melodies and uplifting lyricism, making for a brilliant and powerful ballad that would do well in your in-between-the-sheets rotations or scoring a lonesome night pondering the world's ills. Wherever you hear it, "Wild Light" will surely shine through. There's still no word on when or where you'll find her solo debut, but the build up to the release has proven to be a rewarding one, and she doesn't appear to be letting up anytime soon.
