Day One of the Panorama Music Festival is in the books, and the show is off to a solid start.

Madlib played the early slot in the Parlor, spinning a collection of Stones Throw classics, rare grooves and the original versions of sampled records. The Beastie Boys' Mike D also spun in The Parlor, integrating new tunes into his set for the attendees who caught his set.

Major Lazer hit the Panorama stage, engaging the audience with dance-ready music and scantily-clad dancers, smoke machines and pyro shows setting the scene as Diplo launched shirts into the crowd.

Schoolboy Q performed in the Pavilion, rocking songs from his Blank Face LP while integrating songs from his older catalog for longtime fans. Alabama Shakes performed on the Pavilion stage, and FKA Twigs performed on the Panorama stage.

DJ Khaled's performance began about 20 minutes late due to technical difficulties, and the issues continued through his performance. But he still brought the charisma and star power his legion of supporters follows him for. He played his hit songs, gave the major keys of motivation and wisdom, and had T.I., Fat Joe and Remy Ma as special guests. He also brought out his pregnant girlfriend to assure his support of her and their future baby, before kissing her stomach and taking off his own shirt.

In another highlight, Arcade Fire paid tribute to David Bowie. Frontman Win Butler shared memories the band of meeting him for the first time, and they performed the Bowie-featured "Reflektor" as images of the fallen music icon were shown on the stage.

Panorama Music Festival will feature more than 50 artists performing at the Randall's Island Park in New York City. Highlights on Saturday and Sunday include Kendrick Lamar, Kaytranada, Sufjen Stevens, A$AP Rocky, and others. Come back for photos and recaps from the final two days!
