NYC: Omar + Taylor McFerrin Live At Weeksville Heritage Center [6/2]

I am just assuming that next Saturday, June 2nd you, like me, will spend the afternoon shouting along with the words to "Paid In Full" in between frantically calling all your Philly friends, trying to find a couch to crash on that night so you can engage in one more day of Roots Picnic Madness. However, if you are tied to the 5 boroughs of New York by, say, an electronic ankle bracelet...or maybe a special compound that you need to live, which can only be found in the waters of the Gowanus canal...then may we suggest spending your afternoon cooling out to the sounds of UK soul veteran Omar Lye-Fook and one-man musical army Taylor McFerrin at Brooklyn's Weeksville Heritage Center. Not only will you have your mind pleasantly blown (if you're not down with Taylor's modus operandi, watch him live here) but you'll be helping kick off what promises to be an amazing season of music at Weeksville, featuring Okayplayer (and Okayafrica) all-time favorites like Amel Larrieux, Thudercat, Spoek Mathombo, Willis Earl Beal and Just A Band. Find detailed flyer and the full schedule after the jump and get in where you fit.
