Leon Bridges has been making a tough case for shoe-gaze soul in 2015, harking back to the days of Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett with his soaring croon and a sound that can only be described as timeless. And while the weeks following the release of his studio debut Coming Home have proven to be endlessly fruitful, today we've got an intimate taste of his retro r&b styles to share with you; a stark contrast from the full ensemble you might have seen on his Tonight Show debut a few weeks back. A recent trip to France found the Texas soul man and two supporting vocalists posting up outside of a cafe just behind Notre Dame and dishing out a stunning acoustic rendition of the album standout "River"; a lovely little treat for the unsuspecting Parisian (and now you) as they sipped their wine and pulled on their smokes, and all for the latest installment of A Take Away Show for the good folks at La Blogothéque.
