Pass The Popcorn: The Jaco Pastorious Documentary Is Set For A Red-Carpet Premiere In LA Next Month

Back in March, we hipped you to a new and long overdue documentary treatment on the life, legacy and influence of virtuoso bass player Jaco PastoriousMusic nerds and fusion aficionados will agree, that Jaco's tale is one of unbridled innovation, one that champions the thick-strings of the low-end and brings the oft overlooked bass man to the forefront. Jaco is produced by Metallica's own bass-toting shredder Robert Trujillo, but features testimonials from legendary musicians like Bootsy Collins, Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and plenty more of music's heavyweights.

But the film that once had us wondering whether it would ever get the big screen treatment it deserved just got its date. On Sunday, November 22nd, The Ace Hotel in Los Angeles will host the Jaco red carpet premiere and you can be there for the right price, which is hefty, but depending on your level of devotion to the bass gawd, could very well be worth its price tag.

Watch the trailer for Jaco: The Film below and hit the link to grab some stubs for the premiere.
