My bass player said it best… This is fire, but what it needs is dilla rhyming… And as soon as he said that I felt a deep sadness. RIP to the greatest of all time.

it’s how i feel about a lot of the posthumous work. i’m left wondering if the maestro would approve. although there are exceptions here and there and some soso’s in the mix. this album is an example.RhythmIllPeace

YOU DONT HAVE TO WONDER IF DILLA APPROVED. THE MAJORITY OF US SAYING OVER THOSE TRACKS ARE HIS CLOSE FRIENDS…PEERS…AND STUDENTS WHICH DILLA LEARNED FROM AS WELL AS WITH. YOU SEEM NOT TO KNOW THIS
SO I’M GONNA LET YOU KNOW. YOU CANT LOVE DILLA AND NOT LOVE THE SITUATIONS AND PEOPLE WHO MADE HIM WHO AND WHAT HE WAS. NOBODY MISSES HIM LIKE US. HIS LONGTIME FRIENDS WHO ADMIRED HIM LONG BEFORE ANY OF YOU KNEW HE EXISTED.

Didn’t mean to knock ANY of the emcees on this release. This is their blood and soul on wax we’re talking about. They brought heat, no doubt. This is of course one person’s opinion about what the deceased would have wanted for their estate, and it’s perfectly fine to think otherwise and disagree–especially if you happen to KNOW otherwise, so more power to anyone who actually met dude. Keep grinding. It’s all love.

I’m tempted to listed to this but fuck that!!! I’m going 90′s n that ass and waiting until i have a physical copy in my hands. I like the feeling of hearing something and just being amazed. ..last album that did that to me was LB Minstrel Show. …none ever since. ……Although I’ll admit that i got into Jay Dee’s producion a lil after SV Fantastic V.2 came out..Even though I always liked his work on Busta’s, Kieth Murray, Tribes albums ..As i get older I love and appreciate his music even more now…don’t know if it’s to do with some of his soulfulful beats or what but back when SV came out I was into the HARD BOOMBAP, now i really can’t blast that in my car….Too old to be blasting that…but I do raise the volume on DILLA BEATS BEAts Beats!!! TURN IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for Mr. James Yancey!
