OKP Premiere: Georgia Anne Muldrow Delivers A Trippy Visual For "Queen Knockingstein"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

"Royalty is a way of being, not what someone can't have. It's better when people can think for themselves. Inner truth is where the real power is."

These are the kind of enlightenment that Georgia Anne Muldrow is rocking these days. The multi-instrumentalist has always made autonomy and empowerment her main MO; every bar of her music quivers with sense of stark of revolt, and in her new video for "Queen Knockingstein," there's no need for words--pure sensation takes over. With drifting animated cels and plenty of kaleidoscopic glitches, the clip is a perfect match for the song's funky, captivating tenor. This is the sort of synesthesia that only comes around so often.

"Queen Knockingstein" is the opening track on Georgia Anne Muldrow's latest release, oLIGARCHY sUCKS!, which is replete with dynamic new compositions that draw from the acid-soaked fringes of Jimi Hendrix's late work, along with the airtight chop of J Dilla. It's a fantastic piece of work, and one that carries important political motivations for GAM. For a wider picture of her new technicolor aesthetic, check out recent posts on her Instagram and Tumblr, and watch the world premiere of the new "Queen Knockingstein" below, which Okayplayer is very proud to present. You can pick up your own copy of oLIGARCHY sUCKS!over at Bandcamp. which Georgia's own Some Otha Ship imprint and Foreseen Entertainment have teamed up to re=release. It's also available on iTunes and streamable over on Spotify.

"Find your inner truth," Muldrow asserts. "Don't be ruled. A lot of things we subconsciously do are because of oligarchies." Watch below.
