There have been plenty of attempts at capturing the spark that lit the Burning Bronx ablaze in the late 70s, but a new documentary in Bronx 79 seems poised to pick up the pieces others have left behind. Directed by Peter Mishara (of Sprnva), the film features a massive list of OGs and hip-hop historians that contribute their personal accounts of growing with and contributing to the youth movement that changed the world. The film promises to tell the definitive history of our culture through a collection of original footage and photographs, not to mention animations that stylize first encounters and formative untold moments that will live on forever through this extensive and thorough exposition. You'll find testimonies from champion of the hip-hop baby photo Joe Conzo, keeper of the scrolls Jeff Chang, the culture's first Hispanic master of ones and twos DJ Disco Wiz and a slew of others.
