Singer/songwriter Chris Turner comes through with some of that 'so old it's new' type music via his recently released EP, The Monktape. I had the pleasure of seeing this dude live recently and have been looking forward to some new music ever since. Today, he obliges my request with 5 smooth, jazzy and melodic tracks. The MonkTapeI've always admired the greats like Nat King Cole, Miles Davis and Sammy Davis Jr... something about their artistry, their ability to bridge the gap.. Jazz and Pop culture (their peers). One day I'll record a full length album of standards, but in the meantime..listen to this tape. I guess its my introduction. The proceeds from this project will go towards the mixing and mastering of my album LOVEchild.
