We were so busy sounding off on politics last night, we almost let the BET Hip Hop Awards 2015 breeze by this evening. However, it must be said that BET did roll out a pretty impressive line up for this year’s cyphers--almost always the true highlight of the HipHop Awards show. One that caught us by pleasant surprise, and should definitely be of infinite interest to Okayplayers, would be the the Cast Of Hamilton Cypher, featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Daveed Diggs, and rounded out by everybody's top-5-MC Black Thought with our very own Questlove on the wheels of steel.
Other cyphers included a Def Squad Reunion with Erick Sermon (still green-eyed), Redman (still got it) and Keith Murray (there were some concerns here), and then the Beat Box Cypher with Doug E. Fresh, Nicole Paris, and Rahzel (<--- that's us again. Them cyaan get we outta the race!). Outside of that, other notable participants include Vince Staples, Raury, Casey Veggies, Charles Hamilton (no relation), Tink, and many more. Put them all together and that's a whole lot of bars to digest, and analyze obsessively on the OKP boards, so you might want to get started!
