OKP Presents: The Tipping Point f. BLXPLTN, League Of Extraordinary Gs + More [Austin, 5/17]

Only a few days ago, husband-wife hip hop duo, (RAS) Riders Against the Storm, won an award from the 2013 International Songwriting Contest for their song 'Holy Water.'  On May 17, the 2013-14 SXSW Austin Music Award's Band of The Year is back at Empire Control Room and Garage, hosting the second installment of Okayplayer presents: The Tipping Point, featuring Austin XXL Magazine co-signed super-group, League of Extraordinary Gz, Afro-punk representatives, BLXPLTN, Dallas favorite and Red Bull Sound Select artist, So-So Topic, with r&b-electro divas, Keeper.  This diverse mix of rising stars is about as eclectic and talented as they come in Austin; a town known for its diverse and flourishing music scene.

In partnership with Okayplayer, and Apliiq clothing company, the premiere event on April 19 went harder than Waka Flocka on anabolic steroids, bringing more than 200 people out to Austin's hottest venue, Empire Control Room and Garage.  Performances by Magna Carda, East 35, Krypol Haze, Queen Deelah, Riders Against the Storm, and the incomparable party band Sip Sip lit the night like the fourth of July, leaving Austin primed and ready for round two.
