label for Brownout (AKA Grupo Fantasma) "Flaximus"

If you have never heard of Brownout, that may be because it is the Clark Kent alter-ego to the instrumental powerhouse called Grupo Fantasma. And those cats you should have heard of; they just backed the GZA’s non-stop live performance of Liquid Swords at Bonnaroo and they are just generally the sh*t (no Brownout jokes, please). This jawn “Flaximus” displays their sound at it’s biggest and boldest, incorporating latin funk and psychedelic elements into a musical answer to the question, What if the Wu-Tang Clan was a marching band? “Flaximus” drops in 7″ vinyl form tomorrow June 19 on Kept Records (Listen or download below and purchase here) with “I Won’t Lie” as a B-side (after the jump)
