Audio: Georgia Anne Muldrow x Madlib “Seeds”

No sooner do we announce a new collabo album from the queen of fOnk Georgia Anne Muldrow and enigmatic producer extraordinaire Madlib, do we get hit with the first leak (and it does not disappoint). Listen to the LP’s title track “Seeds” (which you can cop as a single on Feb 14th). This album does not only mark the first album GAM has done as a vocalist exclusively over another producer’s work, but also the first full length album Madlib has done with a female vocalist. Says Georgia:  “Not handling production and focusing strictly on the lyrics and vocals was a very different experience for me.  It was as if I walked into someone else’s world and built a hut.  But I’m very proud of the hut we built and am excited about the release.” Seeds the LP will be out March 27th via SomeOthaShip Connect.

I like this a lot. I don’t usually like singin’ music, but I think female vocalists bring the best out of Madlib (like with Erykah Badu). Also the singers play off the beats better.

  2. Hmm.. I always thought Madlib produced GAM’s debut EP.. I guess I was mistaken all these years…

I know Georgia was DYING for a key change…..PLEASE gimme a key change!! She’s the queen of the sick key changes.
not tryin to hate, but I think they do their best work by themselves, this was sorta average…a bit too repetitive.
