OKP Premiere: Maya Vik- "Totally Right"
Maya Vik is back on OKP and we're getting the week started with the premiere of her throwback rocker "Totally Right." The newest single from the Norwegian bass sage, this track is so ingrained with that glistening 80's bounce that it could make Jimmy Jam. It could make Morris Day ask what time it is. It could turn snow purple. You get the idea-- "Totally Right" builds to a shiny peak with cascading synthesizers and a hook that reigns supreme. It's the follow-up to Maya's stand-out Lay Low EP; an album that was ensconced in the textures of Minneapolis' kings of sophisticated funk. We're told this young Scandinavian is currently residing in NYC and sitting on some new dopeness slated for release this year, so doubtless we'll have more from Maya & Co soon.
