Tracy Morgan Mourns The Loss Of Jimmy McNair, Praises Family & Friends In His First Interview Since The Crash

Watch Tracy Morgan's Emotional 'Today Show' Interview

After settling with Walmart just last week,Tracy Morganthough clearly still reeling, made on appearance on The Today Show this morning to deliver his first interview since the tragic accident that left him in a coma for two weeks and claimed the life of his dear friend, writing partner Jimmy McNair. Morgan toughed through tears for much of the interview, morning the loss of McNair, but thanking all of nurses, doctors and passerby that lent a hand. He explained how deeply hurt he was to have lost his friend and how the big-box giant came through for all parties involved, settling with the McNair family in March for $10 million in damages. And while the emotional and psychological duress were still very much weighing down upon the irreverent one's head, Morgan capped off the interview with the teary-eyed oath:

"I love comedy and I will never stop loving her. I love comedy and I can't wait to get back to her, but right now my goal is just to heal and get better 'cause I'm not 100-percent yet. I'm not. But when I'm there, you'll know it. I'll get back to making you laugh, I promise you."

So here's hoping that Tracy Morgan enjoys a recovery as swift as his own wit, and that all of those touched by the tragedy find peace in the months ahead.
