Tracy Morgan Teams Up With 'Its Always Sunny' Crew For His Own Show On FXX

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Tracy Morgan takes his place as the very first 30 Rock star to get his/her own breakout series following the show's finale last year. FXX recently announced that its picking up another two seasons of Its Always Sunny, but in that very release they also gave first word of Tracy Morgan's teaming with the stars/writers/showrunners of the aforementioned Philly-based jawn for an irreverent romp of his own. The release reads:

"In addition to the Sunny order, FXX has placed a 10-episode order for a half-hour comedy series created by McElhenney, Day, Howerton, and Rakhe (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, New Girl), and starring Tracy Morgan, The Untitled Tracy Morgan Project. RCG will serve as Executive Producers and Showrunners along with with Luvh Rakhe. Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Nick Frenkel are Executive Producers. FXX will pair The Untitled Tracy Morgan Project with the upcoming tenth season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia with a scheduled launch date of January 2015."

So come this time next year, we'll be looking back on what could very well be the most promising (in theory) series the network has ever put thought to put out, or we could also be shaming the offshoot network for ever even dreaming this would be a good idea. Time will certainly tell on this one, so keep it locked as more details bubble to the surface on the ill collaboration.
