Snoh Aalegra Jams With John Mayer On New Single "Under The Influence"
Stockholm, Sweden native Snoh Aalegra bowled us over in 2015 with her high-powered vocals and soul-searching lyrics. Tracks like "Emotional," "Bad Things" and "Paradise" all scintillate the ears from bar 1. Aalegra has always run with a roster of powerful friends, form Common to Killer Mike to No-ID and the mighty RZA. Now it seems she's called up modern guitar legend John Mayer for her latest single, a bombastic thrilled dubbed "Under the Influence."
Opening with the first shots of a sultry Bond theme, "Under the Influence" features delicate strings and right-on-time guitar hits from Mayer. This honestly sounds like a brilliant Nancy Sinatra B-side and/or an Amy Winehouse deep cut that was lost until today. Aalegra is certainly on to something, and we can't wait to hear what her next full-length release sounds like. Thankfully, we're about to get a new EP to hold us over. Snoh has announced her new nine song Don't Explain release, which will feature James Fauntleroy, DJ Dahi, Christian Rich, Boi-1da, Frank Dukes and more.
Production on this new one is credited to her longtime collaborator No-ID, who seems to know just how to steer and sculpt Snoh's vocals as they continue to show promise. Listen to "Under the Influence" below and be on the lookout for more blustry tracks from this bright-burning star.
