One Lucky Fan Gave Public Enemy A Ride To Their Own Show

It goes without saying that before you turn it up and bring the noise, you've got to first make it to the show, and last Saturday Public Enemy learned that lesson in surprising fashion. After missing their taxi to a show in Sheffield, England, the group piled into one lucky fan's Ford Focus and gratefully caught a ride to the gig. The driver was Kevin Wells, who told the BBC that "By the end of the signing, due to a mix-up the taxis did not wait and had driven off." Wells continued, "They asked, 'anyone got a car to take us to the gig?' I replied, 'I will take you, I've got a Ford Focus down the road'".

From there they were off and running, headed from an in-store record signing event to the show. "I thought to myself, did that really happen? I had to pinch myself," Wells told the British station. Public Enemy will play Belfast tonight before returning for a grip of UK shows in London, Birmingham and Bournemouth. If you're in one of those cities, just make sure you've got a full tank of gas.
