Janelle Mona\u00e9 Set To Perform At Tomorrow's #DontStealPossible Rally To End New York's Failing School Crisis

Janelle Monáe is all geared up to perform at tomorrow's #DontStealPossible rally, standing with the countless (literally hundreds of thousands) children in New York's criminally inept school system. As it stands, NYC holds 143,000 students captive in its failing schools, which meet neither their educational nor developmental needs, with nearly 700,000 more kids effected on the state level. The rally will attempt to end the educational crisis by calling on state leaders, parents and children alike to make the systemic and structural changes needed to correct course and will be attended by 80 schools across the state.

The socially-charged and politically minded Miss Monáe will bring her electric performance to the steps of the Capitol Building in Albany, where she will be joined by nearly 8,000 students, parents and educators, all joined in their mission to end this educational catastrophe. The rally will commence at 11: 30 am at the Capitol Building (State St. & Washington Ave.) and will be followed by a press conference at 1: 30 pm. If you intend to join the procession, please do so in a peaceful and thoughtful manner. Below you will find a short advocacy piece, featuring Mike D of The Beastie Boys, Black Thought and Captain Kirk of The Roots, as well as students and teachers from the across the state.
