Rapper J. Cole Talks His New Full-Length LP '2014 Forest Hills Drive' In Conversation With Frannie Kelley & Ali Shaheed Muhammad On NPR's Microphone Check.

Rapper J. Cole recently sat to talk his new full-length LP 2014 Forest Hills Drive in conversation with Frannie Kelley and Ali Shaheed Muhammad for NPR's Microphone Check series. The conversation - Cole's first since the release of the project - finds the Roc Nation representative breaking down all of the moving parts of the release, which has already been touted by many in hip-hop as a culturally important body of work. The project - originally slated to be a double LP - revolves around the loss of his beloved childhood home and an artistic evolution that reunited him with that property later in life. Cole also discusses his relationship with Kendrick Lamar, "Be Free", Ferguson, banging on "the system" and more. Check the track below to listen to the full interview.
