It was a big win for Democrats
We were about 20,000 votes away from having an accused pedophile as a United States senator. On Tuesday night, Democratcandidate Doug Jones beat controversial Republican Roy Moore in the Alabama special election. The race was to replace the seat vacated by AttorneyGeneral Jeff Sessions.
Despite the fact that Moore had numerous child molestation charges against him and insane views, like the last time America was great was during slavery, the election went down to to the wire, with Jones edging Moore by only one and a half percentage point.

So what was the turning point for Doug Jones? Black voters. They came out in droves for Jones. In particular black women came strong, voting for Jones at a 97 percent clip.
Alabama is a small red state. But it seemed like the whole world was watching the results of this election. After the results were announced many notable voices put their two cents in:

The other thing making the social media runs was Jones' acceptance speech, which was humble and graceful, but also included a great pop culture moment.
The new United States senatorwalked off the stage with Cali Swag District's "Teach Me How to Dougie" blaring in the background.

Jones didn't do the Dougie, a rare miss for the new United States Senator.
