H-town spitter Boidru recently made the voyage to Brady Watt's Harlem brownstone to lay down some heat with the NYC bass-man and fellow producer Decap. The result was 8 tracks of hazy heaters conceived in a week's worth of sessions, mixed, mastered and sent to the masses in the form of The Gate EP. Though he hails from Houston, Dru spits Southern draw-less verbal that can't be pegged down to any one corner of the country. The Gate boasts a dynamic range of cuts from the bouncing boogie of "Free Love" to the swinging slow-burn of "Midnight Cups" to the triumphant title-track that caps off the journey and all of the lush instrumental interludes along the way.
