A-F-R-O Makes His 'Tonight Show' Debut w/ A Brilliant Freestyle Performance

If you stay in these internets, you already know A-F-R-O's name. The adolescent lyricist has proven to be one of the brightest, sharpest and most fiery emcees in the game with not so much as a full-length album even in rotation. And while the web has been spoiled with glimpses into A-F-R-O's supreme command of stream of consciousness flows, last night the 18-year-old emcee made a spectacular debut on The Tonight Show by channeling Black Thought and Questlove's point-at-a-random-item-and-go method circa nineteen-eighty-something, with the show's host, Jimmy Fallon, providing the props and his distinguished guest providing the drops.

And let's just say that what transpired brought sheer awe to the faces of both Fallon and The Roots crew, potentially even earning him a recurring bit on the late-night program. If you're looking to get familiar with the brilliance, head over to his Bandcamp to hear him go off over a beats from J Dilla, MF DOOM and the gamut of production legends. Watch young A-F-R-O put on a freestyle clinic on The Tonight Show and hope with us all that this just the beginning of a remarkable career in hip-hop.
