Supreme and Akai Join Forces on a Collaborative MPC Live II

The Supreme MPC goes on sale tomorrow, February 18th, when the company launches its latest seasonal collection.

Supreme is giving one of Akai's flagship samplers a slight makeover.

Earlier this week, the streetwear brand unveiled a preview of its SS21 collection featuring plenty of the standard items you might expect from the label; new tees, jackets, hoodies, beanies, loungewear, and miscellaneous items and accessories. But the star of next season's collection is in that last category, where the company tends to stash a few branded oddities. Specifically, a bright red Supreme edition of Akai's MPC Live II sampler.

The sampler is, of course, fully functional, but instead of the matte black casing, Supreme's limited-edition take on the machine is company red with the logo blasted across its face. The MPC Live II is both a sampler and a MIDI controller with a touch display and 16 velocity-sensitive pads, all of which work seamlessly with both Akai's MPC Beats software and Ableton Live. It is also the first MPC to feature built-in speakers, making it slightly more portable than previous models. This season's miscellaneous items also include a mini-fridge, NERF guns, alarm clocks, Zippo lighters, portable power stations, aluminum dice, and plenty more.

Elsewhere, the SS21 collection features a pair of hat tips to hip-hop icons. One tee brandishes a baby photo of The Notorious B.I.G., another is treated with the album cover of Prodigy's 2000 solo album, H.N.I.C.

You can comb through the preview of Supreme's full SS21 collection here. The full drop arrives tomorrow, February 18th.
