Listen to Prince’s Previously Unreleased Ballad “Why the Butterflies”

A new Prince goodie has been released

OnSeptember 21st, the Prince estate will release a new project from the iconic artist. CalledPiano and a Microphone 1983, the project is a collectionof songs that were recently found in the Paisley Park vault.

Those songs were tracks recorded at Prince's Kiowa Trail studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. All the tracks were recorded by Prince.All tracks are live cassette recordings, featuring onlyPrince and a piano.

On Thursday, September 13th, Noisey premiereda previously unreleased track from Prince. The song is called "Why the Butterflies" and is an epic six-and-a-half minute ballad from the legendarymusician.

"Why the Butterflies" is one of three unreleased songs that will be featured onPiano and a Microphone 1983.
