How To Be Outside, Inside featuring Cartune Beatz

When you’re trying to tap into that authentic, East coast, NYC rap sound, there are a couple of tried and tested producers in the game you can connect with. One name currently at the top of that list is the talented beatmaker, Cartune Beatz. Originally from Harlem, he currently resides on Long Island, but spends a ton of time in NYC networking and notching very impressive placements with some of your favorite spitters. To date, he’s produced scorchers for major names like Lloyd Banks, Dave East, Conway The Machine, Method Man, Ransom, and lots more.

Where do you go in NYC when you want to be outside without being outside? 

When I want to be outside without being outside I typically stop by artist Red Cafe’s spot in Astoria called Private Room. There are plenty of celebrity special guests who stop by, and there is great food and atmosphere. Another spot I stop in is Hidden Tiger which is DJ/Producer Statik Selektah’s place—always a good networking spot with great food and vibes, but never too crazy. Another spot which is newer to me is Home of Astoria. They have a great atmosphere, good food, and also great vibes.

Where do you go when you want to be around people but not with people? 

When I want to be around people but not with people Bryant Park is always a good option when the weather permits. Central Park is another option. This also might be random but the Museum of Natural History is another great spot too.

What does your perfect NYC day look like?

My perfect NYC day would probably be visiting my Dad in the Mount Eden section of the Bronx, then heading back to Manhattan in Times Square. I can always find things to do in Times Square.
