Cardi B is having a busy week. The Bronx rapper has announced that she is pregnant with her fourth child — her first with boyfriend Stefon Diggs. She broke the news during the same week that her sophomore album, Am I The Drama?, is set to drop. The announcement also comes just a day after she announced her first headlining arena tour.
Cardi confirmed the baby news during an appearance on CBS Mornings.
“I'm having a baby with my boyfriend Stefon Diggs," Cardi told host Gayle King, later noting that the baby is due ahead of her tour in February. "I've been putting in all this work, but I'm doing all this work while I'm creating a baby."
"I'm happy, I feel like I'm in a good space," she continued. "Me and my man are very supportive of each other. We like in the same space in our careers. You know what it is that I feel like we're really great, we're really the best at what we do."
Cardi took her relationship with the New England Patriots wide receiver public back in August after the pair began dating last year, following her divorce from Offset. She explained to King that she wasn’t hiding her pregnancy, but she wanted to announce it in her time.
"I felt like, can I just say it on my own time? I'm not hiding."
Cardi praised Diggs for being supportive as she deals with pregnancy and an album rollout. She also had to endure a legal battle: in early September, she won a civil assault trial in California involving an alleged 2018 altercation with a security guard. A jury decided Tuesday that plaintiff Emani Ellis didn't prove any of her three claims against Cardi.
“He just makes me feel safe and very confident," she shared about Diggs. "And it makes you feel like you could take over the world."
After making the big announcement, Cardi had one request.
“Now y'all could buy my album so I can buy Pampers and diapers and all that type of stuff," she joked. "I told you. Now go support my album, 'cause I'm a mother of four now."
