Waajeed Teases New Music with Dynamic and Dance-Floor-Ready 'Get Familiar Mix'
Back for the first time in a long time, Detroit legend, Waajeed, has shared a near hour-long mix of regionally-sourced house, techno and swung-to-death beat selections from his hometown. He drops the Get Familiar Mix as a placeholder, promising new music is en route and apologizing for the delay. Recently, Waajeed and entirety of The Motor City's unsung lineage of exceptional beat constructors were featured in the new documentary, The Unseen: A Detroit Beat Tape, whose soundtrack is a compendium of unreleased cuts from the gamut of Detroit legends including J Dilla, Amp Fiddler, House Shoes and Quelle Chris.
Hear Waajeed's new Get Familiar Mix down below and keep an ear to the ground for his next drop. He'll perform at Hart Plaza in Detroit for Day 1 of Movement Festival, where techno's birthplace is proudly (and loudly) celebrated. Pick up your tickets today.
