Nearly a decade after its intended release, Popular finally has its day

The follow-up to his sophomore 2006 release, On The Jungle Floor, the album was eventually self-released/leaked out of mounting anticipation, though its run was quick and eventually terminated, making it one of the most coveted projects just outside of the internet's gaze. Today, Blue Note has finally (and officially) released Popular with the label's full support.  Label chief and music giant, Don Was, expressed his honor in finally making good:

Popular was so far ahead of its time that it sounds fresh today and reaffirms Van Hunt as an important musical voice. The opportunity to right this wrong is both karmically and musically solid.
