Seven years ago, instrumentalist Adam Turchin packed up his car — a 2002 silver Saturn — and drove to L.A. from Philadephia. He would never look back.
And it was the best thing he's ever done.
On April 28th, Turchin will release his debut album Manifest Destiny, an autobiographical project he wrote, produced, and played 10 different instruments on.
The name Turchin might not ring a bell, but trust you've been listening to him for years. When Turchin arrived in L.A., he started trading saxophones. He met veteran producer Terrace Martin and the two became friends.
Their friendship would lead to Turchin being around during the legendary To Pimp a Butterfly sessions. This lead to Turchin playing the saxophone on Kendrick Lamar's standout "u" and then later on The Game'sThe Documentary 2 and The Documentary 2.5.
Turchin's upcoming album will feature an appearance from Terrace Martin, as well as Javier Starks, Robert "Sput" Searight, Marlon Williams, JP Floyd, and more.
Manifest Destiny releases on April 28th on Ropeadope Records.
