Camp Lo has dropped a new tape filled with rare and unreleased demos called On The Way Uptown, in reference to their underrated 1997 classic Uptown Saturday Night. On the Way Uptown features seventeen tracks. Uptown Saturday Night, which was the group's debut studio album, will turn twenty years old this month. Camp Lo's last album was 2015's Ragtime Hightimes. In 2016 the group made an appearance on The Avalanchestrack “Because I’m Me" off the album Wildflower. Last month Geechi Suededropped his debut solo album0.9 NyteLife FM. If you haven't already head to iTunes to give it a listen. Previous to that Geechi Suede dropped the visuals to the single “Phone Check." Head here to watch. The tracks that make up On The Way Uptown, although a tad rough, are amazing. The project acts as a fascinating insight into the process of creating a hip-hop classic, what makes it and what doesn't. On The Way Uptown features earlier versions of "Krystal Karrington," "Luchini AKA This Is It," and "Sparkle."
