Fresh off the release of his latest mixtape, FLYGOD Is An Awesome God II, Westside Gunn is still promoting tracks from Pray for Paris. On Monday, he premiered the video for “Allah Sent Me,” featuring Benny the Butcher and Conway, the Machine. Stream the full video below.
Directed by The Wizard, the video is mostly shot in black-and-white, aside from Gunn’s red Lamborghini SUV. Benny and Conway don’t appear in the visuals, so the visuals follow Westside Gunn as he balances life at home with the streets. After saying prayers on a Yves Saint Laurent prayer mat, he greets his wife and son and hits the streets. After collecting and counting money, and burning sage, Gunn is suddenly embroiled in an altercation. Gunn spoke about inspiration behind the video with Complex.
“In my days in the streets,” he says, “family was always first, but drug dealing was definitely second.”
Griselda Records are fresh off their first BET Award nomination for Best Group. Three weeks ago, they squared off against Migos, Travis Scott’s Jackboys, Chloe x Halle, EarthGang, and City Girls. Migos took home the honors.
Griselda’s continued its hot streak in the past few months. Back in March, Conway dropped his joint EP with Alchemist Lulu. Two months later, he dropped No One Mourns the Wicked with Big Ghost LTD.
Pray for Paris and FLYGOD is an Awesome God II are available for streaming on major digital platforms.
