This weekend, Flying Lotus‘ debut feature-length film, Kuso, will premiere at Sundance. And while the cast alone has been something drool over for months now, today, less than 24 hours away from the official debut, the film’s eccentric director has shared a glimpse of what to expect if it’s picked up for distribution.
The first trailer for Kuso arrives with all of the expected madness: massive rectum-looking things, giant couch-locked boogers, a man arguing with his blow-up doll, and, of course Brainfeeder‘s newest signee, Dr. Funkenstein. The biggest reveal, however, is that the film’s soundtrack is basically a Brainfeeder compilation album, featuring new cuts from Thundercat, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Kamasi Washington, Busdriverr and, quite naturally, FlyLo himself.
Kuso stars George Clinton, Zack Fox (formerly known as Booty Math,) Hannibal Buress and Donnell Rawlings, with writing, voice acting and animations from the mighty David Firth (of Salad Fingers fame.) See if you can keep your wits watching the trailer for Kuso below, and let’s all hope that soundtrack arrives as a standalone piece in the very near future. Be warned: it’s a heavy one.
