The Grammy-nominated band The Internet return with “Roll (Burbank Funk)” — a song that sounds different than what we’ve heard before.

Just what we need in these trying times of divisiveness, dragon energy, and d’evils: new tunes from The Internet. Sounding nothing like their previous entry, Ego Death, Syd’s vocals play the background as Steve Lacy carries the track, while his bassline groove helps to keep the room smelling danky-and-danceable. With everyone in the band fresh from their successful solo project, some new Internet is just what the WebMD ordered.

“It’s exciting, it’s scary, it’s so many things,” Steve Lacy recently told Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio about working on a new Internet album. “And really I’m just thinking about the change component. Because I know off of Ego Death to where I am now it’s been a dramatic shift. It’s not the same as it was when that came out. I feel like this is on a higher echelon than Ego Death. I love Ego Death, that was a great record, but I know this one is a step up.”

You can see just how much a step up this is for the group by watching “Roll (Burbank Funk)” below, and uploading it to your laptop/phone through Apple Music or streaming it on Spotify.
