Nneka
Nigerian singer-songwriter Nneka is back with a new single titled "Nothing." Nneka also dropped some gorgeously shot black and white visuals for the track. Nneka's last album was 2015's My Fairy Tales which was released via her own label Bushqueen Music. Grab the album from iTunes. Previous to that was 2012's Soul is Heavy, which boasted features from Black Thought and Wura Samba. A while back Nneka stopped by Brooklyn to meet up with Okayafrica for an episode of Okay Acoustic. The singer performed an acoustic rendition of the Soul is Heavy single “Shining Star” at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Check out the performance by clicking here. Nneka, remarking on the song, said it was "about being hopeful regardless of what’s happening around your environment — there’s a lot of negativity in the world at present — this song is about endurance, perseverance and keeping yourself positive."
