Mulatto unveils a visual for her fiery remix to “ Realest B*tch From Da Souf (Remix)” featuring Saweetie and Trina

The release follows the exciting news that the Atlanta rapper officially signed a record deal with RCA. Over the years, RCA has been the home of successful artists such as Bryson Tiller and Tinashe who is now independent.

Throughout the music video, each rapper flaunts their unique wordplay. Clearly Trina shines as she’s the veteran, Saweetie honestly dominates during her scene which features Mulatto and her inside a pastel-themed restaurant.

When speaking on linking up with Saweetie and Trina on the video she shared the following statement with Complex:

“I cannot thank Trina and Saweetie enough for being a part of this. The energy on set was unmatched. Saweetie is truly a sweetheart. Trina is a real-life role model, not only as a rapper but as a woman.”

This past weekend, Trina celebrated the 20th anniversary of her debut album Da Baddest B*tch. The legendary release featured singles including “Da Baddest B*tch” and “Pull Over” featuring Trick Daddy. These two tracks catapulted Trina into superstardom within the female hip-hop community which had already been dominated for years during the ‘90s by Lil Kim, Foxy Brown and others before these two.

It would appear that Mulatto seeked to pay homage to Trina by including her in the “B*tch From Da Souf (Remix)”. Without a doubt, Mulatto’s career wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the careers of rappers including Roxanne Shanté, MC Lyte, Sparky Dee, E-Vette Money and countless others. A few of these individuals were shot by Paper magazine in 1988 for a “Class of ‘88” feature highlighting female rappers.

Before social distancing became the norm, Mulatto was slated to join Lil Tjay on his True 2 Myself tour. The tour dates were reportedly pushed back to late March, yet with the presence of coronavirus, numerous dates have been postponed.
