Lil Nas X Gives the Devil a Lap Dance in Wild "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" Video

Since this past year has felt like hell, the video isn’t that far-fetched and it feels fitting. Lil Nas X always manages to supersede expectations and keep us guessing what he’s up to.

Lil Nas X has released his official video for a new single “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”

The clip arrived after the “Old Town Road” rapper teased it a bit on his social media profiles. Two things were made clear after we watched the visual: the budgets are getting big and Lil Nas X is the moment.

The clip which had to be a massive undertaking takes viewers through the biblical Garden of Eden where Lil Nas X who is clearly Adam first comes across the devil. What’s wild about this part of the video is that the devil seduces him. But this is merely the beginning of the dark shenanigans.

Next, we’re transported to a scene where the rapper is being led to figure out his fate. It’s a mind trip because the guards who are leading him are carbon copies of him. Then he's struck with something and dies. Nas X then appears as a purple-skinned angel drifting upwards to what could be heaven. But heaven wasn’t his fate because things shift swiftly and he’s pole-dancing towards hell.

Once in the depths of the underworld, he gives Satan a seductive lap dance while wearing boxers and thigh-high boots. But then things get really, really dark: he snaps the neck of the devil. Yes, he murders him. Then he snatches his crown and puts it on.

Since this past year has felt like hell, the video isn’t that far-fetched and it feels fitting. Lil Nas X always manages to supersede expectations and keep us guessing what he’s up to. You’d be lying if you say you expected anything that went down in the video to actually happen.
