Chloe x Halle‘s new album is on the way. On Friday, the duo dropped the official visuals for “Do It,” The track is the second single from their forthcoming sophomore album Ungodly Hour.
The grown-ish stars followed up the last single from the project, “Catch Up,” featuring Swae Lee and Mike-Will Made It. In February 2019, the group revealed they’d been in the studio with superproducer Scott Storch working on the new album. “Do It” is the first offering from those sessions.
“Thank you @beyonce for giving me the chance to work with your artists,” he wrote on Instagram. “They are so talented and we made a smash.”
Their Parkwood Entertainment debut The Kids Are Alright earned Grammy nominations for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best New Artist. They recently spoke with Beats One Radio’s Zane Lowe about the new album.
“For this one, we really just wanted to show how we could pair our musicianship with a few bops,” Chloe said. “Letting people enjoy themselves and have fun as well as the lyrics and the messaging of the album. We called it Ungodly Hour because it’s okay to not be perfect all the time. It’s okay to have those moments of self-reflection when you just don’t feel okay.”
