18 years after their beloved gold single “I Know What You Want,” Mariah Carey and Busta Rhymes have reunited for “Where I Belong.” The latter track, from Busta’s latest album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God flips a sample of its predecessor. The video even continues the plotline of the former. This time, rapper Trippie Redd makes a cameo, while actors Michael Jai White and La’Shontae “Tae” Heckard also return from the first chapter in the series. Original director Chris Robinson returns to direct, finishing up the rest of the story from 2002. Stream the full video below.
In the first video, Busta spies on his friend (White)’s wife (Heckard) while he’s out of town on business, only to become seduced by her himself. Busta and the rest of his crew are ambushed upon leaving White’s mansion, and the video ends on a cliffhanger.
This time around, with a tip from Trippie Redd, Busta and Michael are able to find Heckard, mysteriously decked out in red, and attempt to exact revenge. Along the way, they run into some resistance: she’s being guarded by samurai swordsmen. Somehow, the unlikely duo are able to dispose of the henchmen.
Extinction Level Event 2 features guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, Rick Ross, Ol Dirty Bastard and Q-Tip.
