Big Sean and Jhene Aiko Recreate ‘Poetic Justice,’ ‘Waiting to Exhale’ in “Body Language” Video

Big Sean and Jhene Aiko paid homage to modern classics in their latest video.

On Wednesday, Big Sean premiered the video for his latest single “Body Language,” featuring Jhene Aiko and Ty Dolla $ign. The video is a nostalgic affair, recreating scenes from iconic Black romantic comedies of the 1990s like Poetic JusticeThe Best ManWaiting to Exhale, and Love Jones. Watch the new video below.

In the video, Sean assumes Tupac’s role as Larry “Lucky” Knight while Jhene takes Janet Jackson’s Justice LaRue.

The collective also known as Twenty88 have teamed up for another steamy collaboration, this one from Sean’s number-one Billboard album Detroit 2. The project, which also features guest appearances from Nipsey Hussle, Eminem, Travis Scott, and Young Thug, sold 103,000 album-equivalent units.

Following the album’s success, Big Sean has become a “golden mentor” for McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden Mentors Program. The organization, created to extend McDonald’s efforts to uplift the Black community and elevate Black educational advancement, offers a $500,000 scholarship fund for 30 HBCU students.

“Once I was approached to be part of it, I really did the research and sat with the team and saw how much people care behind the scenes,” Sean recently said of his involvement. “Through my foundation, with Detroit public schools, with my after school programs, with everything that we do with the Boys & Girls Club and now with McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden Mentors Program, I love being involved in things that are real, [where] you can see the difference and they’re not just doing it for cameras.”

Detroit 2 is currently available on all major digital streaming platforms.
