Best R&B Videos To Drop Last Week: Brent Faiyaz, DVSN, Summer Walker & More

R&B artists were on fire last week. We’re highlighting releases from Ciara, Summer Walker, Brent Faiyaz, DVSN and ilham.

Ciara and Summer Walker officially released their video for “Better Thangs” last week. It’s a pop-infused bop that we’re here for.

Brent Faiyaz also recently shared the video for “All Mine,” a standout from his album WASTELAND.

Ciara, Summer Walker – “Better Thangs”

Ciara and Summer Walker connect for “Better Thangs” an R&B and pop mash-up. The track is easygoing, and the video directed by Mia Barnes is filled with cute moments. Ciara shines for much of the track and Summer adds her flavor in her verse. What we love about the clip is how it’s clear they’re both aware of the R&B lineage that wouldn’t be possible without Ciara who paved the way for singers like Walker.

Brent Faiyaz – “All Mine”

Brent Faiyaz is a secretive artist who keeps to himself. That’s why when he revealed he’d be dropping the visual for “All Mine” we didn’t know what to expect. It gives off an eery vibe, but we’re here for it. Supermodel Joan Smalls stars in “All Mine” she’s outwardly anxious and she heads to the bar where she waits for Faiyaz to show up. Eventually, he does after what seems to be an eternity. No excuses work for her for his tardiness, he sits alone at the end. The entire clip is reminiscent of Netflix’s Malcolm & Marie.

DVSN, Jagged Edge – “What’s Up”

Following up on their toxic R&B single “If I Get Caught,” DVSN releases “What’s Up” featuring Jagged Edge. There are elements of ’90s R&B in this track: Daniel is standing singing in the rain. Elsewhere, Jagged Edge appears and contributes to the soulful chorus that’s the core of the song about pining for someone who’s no longer in your life. Jermaine Dupri makes a quick appearance too.

Ilham, French Montana – “corazon”

It’s been a minute after Ilham released her single “Gang Signs,” but now she’s dropped a new video for her single “corazon” featuring French Montana alongside the release of her new self-titled EP. Since the track is a flip of Cassie’s “Me & U” it was a cute nod when the singer appeared in the video. The visual includes a variation of shots that juxtapose Ilham’s lyrics about a lover she’s beckoning.
