Silk Sonic is here.
Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have released the first single from their upcoming album, An Evening with Silk Sonic. The single is “Leave the Door Open,” and it was produced by Mars and D’Mile.
With the release of the single comes the video, which features the two legends and their band jamming out during a session.
Bruno Mars and .Paak were given the name Silk Sonic by legendary artist Bootsy Collins. And with the release of “Leave the Door Open” comes a special intro track that features Collins himself. (Collins will also be the narrator for the entire album.)
There is currently no release date for the Silk Sonic album. But it will be coming later this year (we would hope.)
Last week, Mars and .Paak announced that they were releasing an album together. In a Tweet, Mars wrote:
Though they’ve never linked in the studio prior, rumors of some form of collaboration began when .Paak joined Mars on the European leg of the singer’s 24K Magic Tour in 2017. Now, all those years later, and the two finally found a way to create a whole project together.
In other news, Mars announced that he was teaming up with Lacoste for a lifestyle clothing collection. (In fact, you can see Mars wearing it in the video.) Head here for more information about the line.
